If you like reading and haven’t been to this, you need to go.
You’ve been missing out!
I’ll be there in the Books by the Banks travel section
— geeking out —
um, I mean signing books then, on break, I’ll be getting books signed!
If you haven’t been to this, it is kind of hard to get a feel for what to expect.
But, I’ll tell you…
A whole lot of awesomeness!
Imagine the massive meeting rooms at Duke Energy Center….
now fill the room with authors and illustrators at tables.
Aisles and aisles of authors and illustrators.
Like a living bookstore!
All of the authors and illustrators are thrilled to be there and so happy to talk about their craft.
But, Books by the Banks is EVEN better for kids.
If you have kids this event is tremendous for them.
Seriously,
where else would you see this?
Take a look at the schedule for kids.
My daughters love it because they get to talk with the
writers and illustrators.
One on one.
Face to face.
In fact, several of the illustrators have presentations where they show the kids how to draw.
Plus, stopping by their table usually gets rather hilarious and fun as basically the big kid shows the little kid how to draw or talks about telling stories.
I hope you can find the time to make it — you and your kids will be glad you did.
