Brrrrr. First Snow of 2014 Winter

Brrrrr. First Snow of 2014 Winter

Ah! Snow!

I have a love / deep-resentful-spiteful-hate relationship with winter. I love the first snow and almost all the snows.

I even have a snow song. I sing and dance on the snow at the first snow fall.

I love snow — until we hit March and then I’m so very over snow and cold and snow and cold and snow and cold.

Anyways, I’m still in the love snow phase this year — so I rushed out to grab some photos of this beautiful snow. I know some of you couldn’t get out and some of you had to work and some of you were looking at your kids who were home from school and you were thinking — “Huh! Can I  survive 12 more snow days. How long until spring?”

To give you an idea of our snow day, I was lured outside at 7:25 a.m. by my oldest to see the “beautiful snow.”

Then I got hit in the head by a well-packed and perfectly aimed snowball from my lovely lying-through-her-teeth child who is now grounded until she is 30!

After playing around in the yard, we decided to trek out and enjoy looking at the snow. We didn’t hike because of how wet the snow was but I wanted to sooooo bad.

On a side note: I was going to write a post about Take a Hike Day which is today — but I didn’t because someone in sunny California must have made November 17 as Take a Hike Day — it definitely wasn’t anyone around here!

Here are some photos of the First Snow Day! Happy Hiking!
