If you are really into hiking or just want to go for a short walk in the woods there are many options available. Let’s head south this weekend. Kincaid State Park is a fun hike for the whole family.
The hike starts at the rec center which is a great location to enjoy a picnic under the pavilion while the kids play on the playground. The hike stretches your legs too as it heads downhill to the valley area. When you edge down into this lowland area do so quietly and you’ll likely startle a deer or two. We have startled deer bedded down right along the edge of the banks as well as near the bridge.
This time of year is so nice especially for early morning hikes. Bring along bug spray that the whole family can use. I prefer Repel’s Lemon Eucalyptus Spray. You’ll smell really good but not to the bugs. You can find the spray in most box stores. I typically find it in the camping section rather than the bug spray section. Go figure.
Have a great hike!
