Okay. I know I sound a little nuts but SmartWool socks really do rock. They have a variety of crazy patterns and colors. Which I love and they have different puffiness and support that is great.
What do I mean by that? Well, you can get SmartWool socks that the toes and the heel are about twice to three times (I’m not goo at math) the thickness of the rest of the sock. It is fantastic for your toes and heels.
A lot of the hikes I do head uphill and then downhill. And, sometimes no matter how well you have picked a pair of boots out your toes get boxed. That’s when your toes are crammed into the front of the boot and it hurts. This happened to me on the Zaleski Backpacking Trail. Part of the trail was rerouted and cut across a hill. So not only was I walking downhill, I was also walking across the slope. My feet survived even though my ankles definitely felt it the next day. The only reason my toes didn’t have blisters was my Smartwools.
You can find SmartWools at Benchmark Outfitters, Roads, Rivers, and Trails, and REI. Or you can order them online and get free shipping at REI online.
