Spring Flew By

Wow! Spring went quick. We got in one small hike to Cincinnati Nature Center’s Long Branch Farm. I’m planning on hiking more the rest of err spring and then hiking a fair amount during the summer months.

But, back to spring or the lack there of…

You might get lucky to catch a few spring blooms but if we have some more hot days the spring wildflower bloom will be over before you know it. I like to use my smelly Bradford Pear as an indicator of spring.

Try Germantown MetroPark for trilliums and Buzzardroost and Wilderness trails for trout lilies which might still be in bloom. Germantown and California Woods are good for spotting Dutchman’s Britches.

On warmer evenings the spring peepers are still calling though not the thrumming chorusing they were doing waaaay back in March.

Dogwoods are fading fast and the redbuds are pretty much gone. So, if you’re going to go GO NOW. Call in a personal day and refresh your brain with a hike!
